AmeriCorps Program Needs Tutors for the 2021-2022 School Year

Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools, in partnership with the AmeriCorps tutoring program, is searching for tutors to serve students during the 2021–2022 school year. Make a difference in your community and volunteer as a reading tutor to help our students become successful readers.

Reading Corps tutors are needed at Mississippi Heights Elementary, Pleasantview Elementary and Rice Elementary.

Tutors work one-on-one or in small groups with students during school hours throughout the school year. If you’re a recent grad, career changer, stay-at-home parent or retiree you can make a great tutor! Minnesota Reading Corps offers comprehensive training so tutors are well equipped to help students grow.

Perks as A Tutor

  • Receive a stipend every two weeks
  • Earn up to $4,441.00 for college tuition or student loans
  • Tutors 55 and older may gift the award to their child, grandchild, stepchild or foster child
  • Free health insurance and child care assistance for those who qualify
