Breakdown of Morning Schedule

Hello PV families,

We wanted to give you a breakdown of what the start of the day looks like at PV. We encourage you to talk with your student(s) about the morning schedule so they can make the appropriate choices and make it to class on time.

7:15am -Safety Zone is open for drop off! Students can choose to play on the playground (as weather permits) or go inside to eat breakfast and/or sit at their designated table with classmates. If your student likes to take their time to eat, encourage them to eat breakfast so they have plenty of time and don't feel rushed.

7:25am - First morning bell rings! This is when Teachers will arrive in the cafeteria to pick up students and walk to classrooms. Students playing on the playground should make their way into the cafeteria if they are still wanting to eat breakfast or go to class with their teachers.

7:35am - Second morning bell rings! This is when all students who are outside on the playground will need to go inside and make their way to their classrooms. Students choosing to come in at the second bell are directed to go to classrooms and not given the choice to get breakfast.

7:40am - Third and final morning bell rings! School has officially started for the day! If your student arrives at 7:40am or after, they will need to go in the Main Entrance and staff will take their name and they will go to class. They will be marked Tardy.

Majority of classrooms start the day with a morning meeting. This part of the day is really important for developing social skills and creating a sense of belonging at school. It also provides a time to review essential material and provides an overview of the day.  This preview of the day really helps support students in knowing what to expect.  For many students, this is one of the most important parts of the day. Instruction begins at 7:50am. Please make every effort to have your child here on time so they can benefit from this time.
